Should Pastor Ng’ang’a Apologize to Kenyans or Compensate the Family

For weeks now, Kenyans have been treated to an animated telenovela script starring one Pastor James Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism Centre after he was involved in a road accident that killed Ms Mercy Njeri. (Rest in Peace)

After sideshows including a live interview on Citizen TV, Ng’anga’ would later deny everything, blaming the media for assassinating his character maliciously.

Together with relentless Kenyans on Twittern aka #KOT who thirstily bayed for his blood, the police, and the DPP, sealed Ng’ang’a’s fate.

Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko recommended that the ‘Man of God’ be charged over the killer accident that allegedly involved his vehicle.

Nga’ang’a was arrested on Wednesday and charged in court on Thursday, with conspiring against justice, causing death by dangerous driving, giving false information and failing to report an accident. He denied the charges.

Today, after cooling his heels at Gigiri Police Station, the court released him on 1 Million Bond, pending hearing and determination of his case.

While Ng’ang’a remains innocent until proven guilty, Kenyans are asking hard questions:

Should he apologize to his followers if not Kenyans at large?
